Plot dump.

Earth-3!Birds: Earth-3 is a magical alternate universe in which all the superheroes are supervillians and vice versa. The Joker becomes the awesome Jokester, Batman becomes Owlman, Superman is Ultraman, yadda yadda yadda. We see one of the Dinahs in the big fat fight scene and I think we can assume that there was an Owlgirl who became an evil!Oracle. So the plot: mild-mannered schoolteacher (and mobsterette) Helena Bertinelli recieves a phone call from Oracle, who is worried about her partner Black Canary. Blackmail and girl-saving-her-fellow-woman ensues. I'm thinking I want Harleen Quinzel aka Punchinello as per the discussion on[info]funhouseofevil  to be the one holding Canary hostage. Channeling the TV show, you know?

Fanfic100 prompts: That's right. All of them. I put in a claim but I may just do them whether they accept it or not.

Zinda Blake is awesome and I want to write a fic devoted to her.

Random Comic Commentary: BoP #38

The Next Little Thing
Writer: Chuck Dixon

From a time when Dinah wore pants. Clicking randomly through my one gig file of BoP comics and their spin-offs, I stumbled upon a simple Black Canary/Oracle mission, beginning with Canary scaling the side of the General Robotics building while making snarky remarks to Oracle. They are my one true pairng, Oliver Queen be damned. (Here's a tidbit about me: I own a copy of Black Canary Wedding Planner and I just pretend that Barbara and Dinah are the ones getting married while Arrowboy flitters in the background ineffectively.)

But that's another fanfic.

The absolute best part about this comic is what Babs is wearing. A cute Bat-jersey with shorts underneath. So adorkable. And Dinah's pants and jacket also have plot--it is a cold night and it is nice to see her properly dressed. GR is about to unveil new technology yet believes rival companies will try to steal it. So the Birds decide to protect the building...by breaking into it. Babs does some computer work and Dinah is rendered unseeable by GR cameras.

Meanwhile, below, GR recieves a special delivery: one tasering the front guards. A stealthy ninja-spy stealths his way down the the hall. And stealthily sets off the alarm. Dinah rushes to the project room just in time to miss a giant explosion. Stealthy Ninja-spy berates Dinah while using a nerd to unlock the SPECIAL TECHNOLOGY room.

Nerd warns the Stealthy Ninja-Spy that the technology isn't safe. But Stealthy is a ninja-spy and therefore cannot be bothered.

Dinah chooses to obey the nerd, stays back, allowing Babs to look at the "microtechnology". Nerd warns Stealthy yet again not to touch it. He doesn't listen and the microtechnology starts eating him alive holy shit. Nerd runs away and General Robotics goes on lock-down, trapping Dinah inside with No-Longer-Stealthy. Babs indentifies the technology as nanites, self-replicating machines. No-Longer-Stealthy's body is covered with them.

Dinah uses her Canary Cry on him to no avail. No-Longer-Stealthy fights her off. Eventually, she has to use the cry to escape the lockdown---which doesn't work. Then Babs cues the lights. The nanites freak out, take complete control over No-Longer-Stealthy. The comic ends with No-Longer-Stealthy in prison under a new name.

Entity.
